Shallow

So close to the surface
I see your smile
All the while wondering how
Those eyes
Hiding lies
See the world

I bow
To the reflections in the shallows
The rippling pools
Of blood
Dripping from the gallows
And see with dawning frown
A world too shallow
For you to drown

I scratch out poems, and the odd little tale. Mostly for my own amusement.
